Wanda Convirs

Wanda L. Convirs, 91, Muskogee, OK, passed away, October 18, 2025 at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center in Muskogee after an illness.

Wanda LaVerne Pope was born April 26, 1934 in Bakersfield, CA the daughter of Clarence and Retta (Kasinger) Pope. She formerly had lived in the area. Wanda drove a school bus for Wyandotte Public Schools and in her later years she worked as a Security Guard of the former Bordertown Casino. Wanda enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Wanda L. Pope married Oscar Convirs August 6, 1950 and he preceded her in death February 10, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Convirs and one sister Charlotte Gagen.

Survivors include, one son, Daniel Convirs and wife Dorothy, Grove, OK; foster daughter Terry Buening and foster son Otis More and several other foster children; Granddaughters, Amber Parks and husband Jerry, Muskogee, OK, Danielle Convirs, and Allyssa Convirs, both of Wyandotte, OK; grandson Michael Convirs, Miami, OK and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7pm, Thursday, October 23rd at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.

Graveside services will be held at 10am, Friday, October 24th at the Seneca Cemetery with Larry Convirs officiating.
