Vernon Alan Rhinehart, age 67, Diamond, MO, passed into eternal rest on December 14, 2025, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Vernon Rhinehart was born October 6, 1958, in Fort Sill, OK, the son of James V and Peggy J (Watley) Rhinehart. Vernon graduated from Seneca High School in May 1976. Vernon served his country in the United States Marine Corps from January 30, 1985, to October 31, 2002, he retired as a Master Sergeant as a Data Communication Specialist. He Retired from General Dynamics in 2023. Vernon collected guns, loved fishing, traveling, watching SciFi shows, spending time with his family and especially his cowboy hats and boots collection. Vernon was a believer in Jesus Christ.
Vernon Rhinehart was preceded in death by his parents James Vernon and Peggy Jean Rhinehart;
Vernon married his beloved wife Darla Durham-Schmidt on June 29, 2007 and she survives.
He is survived by his former wife, Diana Rhinehart and their children Tarin Lynn Wilson and husband Jim Anderson, Neosho, and Anthony James (Tony) Rhinehart and wife Brenna, Seneca. Grandchildren James, Emily, Keira, Dawsyn, Brantley, Grant and Ryan; two stepsons, Samuel Schmidt and wife Myndy, Carthage and Joshua Schmidt, Joplin
Brothers Phillip Rhinehart, Seneca; Daryle Rhinehart and wife Rose, Seneca, and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am January 3, 2026 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca with Michael Steele officiating.
