Obituary for Vernon D. DeWeese

Vernon  Dean DeWeese, 84, Neosho, MO passed into eternal rest Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home after a sudden illness. Vernon Dean DeWeese was born August 7, 1930 in Seneca, MO the son Osbern and Libby (Stelts) DeWeese.  Vernon worked for 17 years for Empire District Electric Co. In 1978 he founded Level Ride Manufacturing Company in Diamond, MO. and remained president until retiring in August of 1995. Vernon was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and served in several various capacities over the years.  Vernon D. DeWeese married Jeanne Croach October 20, 1949 and she preceded him in death March 28, 2008.  Survivors include two sons; Mike DeWeese and wife Carol, Seneca and Kevin DeWeese and wife Brenda, Diamond; two daughters, Karen Nixon and husband Gary, Joplin and LaJeana Sapp and husband Glenn, Joplin; two sisters, Betty Yust, Claremore, OK and Eldonna DeWeese, Bolivar, MO; one brother-in-law, Keith Jackson, Joplin; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Bethel Baptist Church, north of Seneca, with Fred Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery with Michael DeWeese Jr. Marc DeWeese, Matt DeWeese, Zac Nixon, Austin DeWeese and Daniel Sapp serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cotton Bettis, Tom Kuhn, Floyd Ball, Randy House and Keith Hahn.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Life Choices Resource Medical Clinic in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.
