Obituary for Vergil E. Hamilton

Vergil E. Hamilton, 84, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 10:15 am, September 25, 2015 at the Spring River Christian Village after a sudden illness.  Vergil Eugene Hamilton was born February 8, 1931 in Racine, MO the son of Charles and Mary (York) Hamilton.  Vergil was a jack of all trades. He was baptized in the former Seneca Full Gospel Church and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Seneca.  He was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Vergil loved the outdoors, fishing, swimming and nature as a whole.  He worked many jobs including at Neosho Box and Wood, several farms and a host of other jobs. Vergil was a United States Army Veteran. Vergil Eugene Hamilton married Mary Brown February 22, 1956 in Seneca, MO and she survives.   Additional survivors three sons, Michael Hamilton, Roger Hamilton and wife Julie and Larry Hamilton and wife Karen all of Seneca; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren Vergil was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings, Margaret Hamilton, Clifford Hamilton, Ann Ottendorf, Beulah Hull, Claude Hamilton and Sara White.  Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Wed. September 30th at the Bethel Baptist Church with Ty Dawson officiating.  Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Michael Hamilton, Larry Hamilton, Roger Hamilton, Chris Hamilton, David Hamilton, Dusty Dees and Stephen Hamilton serving as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
