Stella Nadine "PeeWee" Campbell from Wyandotte, passed away on September 5, 2024, at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Peewee was born on December 1, 1940, in rural Ottawa County, the tenth child of Jim and Josie (Harrison) Campbell. She was born prematurely and was the first incubator baby at Miami Baptist Hospital. The doctors and nurses called her "PeeWee" and the nickname stuck for all of her 83+ years.
PeeWee was preceded in death by both parents and all nine of her brothers and sisters: Ruth, George, Reba, Pauline, James, Bobby, John, Ann, and Billy. She was married several times over the years but had no children. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of inlaws and friends. A special niece, Brenda (Bluejacket) Himes, cared for PeeWee during the last several years of her life, providing a place to live and general life assistance. Peewee was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church and attended regularly until moving to the nursing facility in July of 2022.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00pm, September 10, 2024 at the Wyandotte Indian Cemetery with Bro. John Crowley officiating. The body will lay in state for viewing Monday September 9th from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Tuesday September 10th from 9:00am to 2:30pm at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
