In Loving Memory of Shira Lawson

It is with full hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that our beloved Shira Lawson - devoted wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother, and friend to so many - passed away from this earthly life on the evening of May 27, 2025,.

Born with a spark that only grew brighter over the years, Shira was the beloved wife and life partner of Pat Lawson. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, loyalty, and a love that stood the test of time. As a coach's wife, Shira was the ultimate supporter-on the sidelines, in the stands (not so quietly we might add), and most importantly, in spirit. Her presence was steady and strong, a true anchor in every season of life.

She was the proud and loving mother to Renate and Shan, raising them with the same fierce devotion and quiet strength that she brought to every role in her life. Later, she would become Grandma to Nicole and Travis, a title she wore like a crown. Whether it was a game, a match, or a student performance, if someone she loved was involved be it family or friend, you could count on Shira to be there, cheering from the crowd with unmistakable joy and pride.

Shira spent decades shaping young minds as a dedicated educator at Seneca High School. Teaching wasn't just her job - it was her ministry. Her students knew she cared, not just about the grades they earned, but about the lives they were living. And in turn, she earned the lifelong love of countless young people who she welcomed into her heart as "one of her own."

A true explorer at heart, Shira found joy in travel, particularly in the natural beauty of Colorado, where the mountains seemed to echo her adventurous spirit. She had a deep love for music and dancing, often found laughing among her many dance groups, reveling in the rhythm and camaraderie. Her camera was never far from her side, always ready to capture the fleeting beauty of a moment - a lake, a field of flowers, a grandchild's smile, all memory in the making.

Shira's life was one of devotion: to her family, her students, her friends she considered family, and her community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the memories we now hold dear. We will miss her presence -her laughter, her wisdom, her fierce hugs - but we are better for having known her. And we will carry her with us, always.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Seneca United Methodist Church with Rev. Marilyn O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Travis Jewell, Landry Knight, Mike Lawson, Chris Yust, Rob Yust and Mark Beam serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Maun Sherer, Benny Lawson and Morris Lawson.
