Sherrill York

Sherrill E. York, 82, Grove, OK passed into eternal rest December 8, 2018 at Grove Integris Hospital after a long illness.
Sherrill Elaine Souza was born September 11, 1936 in Hanford, CA the daughter of John Souza Jr. and Helen (Silva) Souza. Sherrill was a daughter of a dairy farmer. She was no stranger to hard work on the dairy farm. Sherrill work for the State of California as a secretary for the Unemployment Office. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Grove, OK.
Sherill was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Lyle Ellingsworth, one daughter, Letitia Cuelho and one sister Nadine Truini.
Sherrill is survived by her husband Grover York, Grove; one daughter, Lynell Gonzalez, Grove; two step-sons, Mark York, Hanford, CA and James York, Pagopago, Samoa,; one step-daughter, Tammy Relman, San Martin, CA; one sister Patricia Negriti, Arroyo Grande, CA and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Grove, OK with Pastor Jim Paisley officiating.
Sherrill will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford, CA next to her first husband Lyle Ellingsworth.
