Ricky Lee Gideon, age 57 of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord March 8th, 2024 at his home in Wyandotte, OK.

Rick was born to Gary and Hope (Jimerson) Gideon on April 20, 1966 at Miami Baptist Hospital in Miami, Oklahoma.

Rick's life was one of engagement and enthusiasm. Whether he was tinkering in his garage, sharing Army stories with friends, or spending time with his family, he did so with a warmth and generosity that drew people to him. His presence was a comfort, and his orneriness was infectious.

Rick was a 1984 graduate of Quapaw Public Schools. Rick had been employed at Bagcraft Corp and Camp Crowder MOS13. Rick was a proud Tribal member of the Quapaw Nation. Rick also served as a Decon for Eastside Assembly and currently served as a Chairman for the Ottawa County #5 Water from 2015 to current date.

Rick was a proud veteran of the 203rd Army National Guard. His service included 2 tours, one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. Rick loved his country. Rick was Medically Discharged after 25.5 years of service.

Rick married Valeria (Stapp) Gideon May 31st 1995 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they raised 2 sons together. Both followed their dad's footsteps and joined the military after their high school graduation. Rick was extremely proud of them.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents Denis and Velma Jimerson, Andy and Margie Gideon, mother-in-law Sharon Stapp, and Sister-in-law Pam Stapp Porter.

Ricky is survived by his Father and Mother, Gary and Hope Gideon, Miami, Beloved Wife Valeria Gideon, Wyandotte, Sons Douglas Lee Gideon and Wife Berjhawn of Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska and Kyle Derek Gideon of Wyandotte, Sister Kathy Williams and husband Tommy of Miami, Brothers Jimmy Gideon and Wife Shiela of Miami, Harvey Jimerson and wife Pam of Quapaw, father-in-law Bobby Joe Stapp Sr of Wyandotte., Brother-in-laws Ryan Stapp and wife Alisha of Webb City, Mo. , Bobby Joe Stapp Jr. of Joplin, Mo., and Rick Porter of Joplin, Mo. Best Friends Doug and Christina Frost, Seneca, Mo. Host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and Nieces and Nephews.

Rick's favorite title was Papa to Sydaleigh Anne, Donovan Lee, Jaxson Kole, Jameson Jack (JJ), and Knox Reign. If Papa couldn't fix it no one could. He loved his grandkids more than anything in the world.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 10th 2024, at Eastside Assembly Church, Miami, OK. From 2-4pm. The funeral will be held at Eastside Assembly Church Monday, March 11th 2024 at 10:00am. with Reverend Larkin E. Enlow and Reverend Gary Rhodes officiating. The body will be taken for cremation following the services.
