Obituary for Phyllis Kay Merriman-Reed

Phyllis Kay Merriman-Reed, 67, went home to be with her Lord, after a long illness, on June 15, 2011. She passed away in the home surrounded by her family.   Phyllis was born in Seneca, MO on May 8, 1944. Phyllis was a lifelong homemaker and worked at Grand Lake Manor in Grove, OK as a certified medication aid for 13 years. She loved caring for the elderly. Phyllis also loved crocheting, gardening and watching the birds at her feeders, going to garage sales, listening to southern gospel music and playing with her family especially her grandchildren.Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and mother Arnold and Cinderella Merriman, infant son Winston Reed, and one daughter Cindy Coffey.Survivors include sons, Mel Reed and wife Melanie, Joplin, MO, Wayne Reed and wife Leanna, Wyandotte, OK; daughter, Amy Stockton and husband Dan, Claremore, OK and son-in-law Bob Coffey, Seneca; five brothers, John R. Merriman, A.J. Merriman, Ted Merriman, Claude Merriman and Rod Merriman and one sister Emma Lou Atchinson; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Council House Friends Church, Wyandotte, OK with Nolan Head officiating. Burial will be in the Council House Cemetery with family members, Mel Reed, Wayne Reed, Bob Coffey, Dan Stockton, Luke Coffey and Daniel Stockton serving as pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
