Obituary for Norman E. Hughes

Norman E. Hughes, 88,Miami, Oklahoma passed into eternal rest, September 4, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.

Norman was born May 21, 1930 in Wyandotte, OK to Clarence Hughes and Laura Hughes. Norman owned and operated several businesses over the years. When he was in Oregon he was a logger after returning to the area he had a Dairy was a carpenter and a general contractor. Norman served his country in the US Army from 1947-1949 in Japan. He was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church in Miami, OK.

Norman E. Hughes married Gladys Nadine Burleson, Sep. 30, 1950 and she preceded him in death Nov. 9, 1976. Norman married Iva Faye in April of 1977 and she preceded him in death March 1996. Norman married Jo Ann Irby, Nov. 29, 1996 and she survives.

Additional survivors include children Norma Goss and husband Gordon Kalispell, MT; Kathey Wyrick and husband Darrell, Miami, OK, Judy Lofland and husband Doug, Wyandotte, Ok, Stanley Hughes and wife Shelley, Miami, OK, Toni Jo Fisher and husband Michael, Collierville, TN and Pam Burnside and husband Richard, Benton, LA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and extended family.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents and two great grandchildren, Henleigh Lofland and D.J. Billings; siblings, Amos Massey, Earnest Massey, Fay Hughes, Bill Hughes, Lorene Campbell, Marie Whitlock and Eva Dean McDaniel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at the the First Assembly of God Church in Miami, OK.

Funeral Service Under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church in Miami, OK with Pastor Raymond Frizzelle officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Wyandotte Cemetery, Wyandotte, OK with Eric Lofland, Curtis Lofland, Rusty Wyrick, Dr. Wayland Billings, Cody Hughes and Josh Allen serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Mark Fisher, Brandon Burnside, Chuck Beverage, Chad Beverage, Andrew Fisher and Caleb Fisher.
