Mary Jo Hall went to her new home on January 25, 2026. She didn't just get a new home but a mansion where the streets are paved with gold! Her Christian faith was very important to her. She made a goal at the age of 97 to read the Bible through one more time before getting her heavenly reward. She read her devotions and Bible until the last week of her life. She was welcomed into heaven on Sunday to start singing with the angels and praising Jesus.
Mary Jo was born on August 11, 1925 to Nellie and Lawrence Lynn Hancock. She had three siblings, Norma, Wanda, and Sonny, who preceded her in death.
She married O.C. (Cliff) Hall on October 25, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2012.
Mary Jo was a Homemaker and a caregiver to many. It didn't matter if she knew you or not - when she saw a need, she made sure it was taken care of. She gave countless hours teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed singing and led the opening song service for the kids at Seneca Christian Church. The children she taught knew she had a genuine love for them and many have stayed in touch with her throughout the years.
Mary Jo maintained contact with her many friends throughout her life - she was a devout letter-writer and was known to include stickers, balloons, a piece of gum, or a tea bag with her correspondence. Her home was always adorned with notes, artwork, photos, and many hummingbird trinkets. She will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Pattie) Hall, Lee (Glenda) Hall, Kathy (Lerry) Garrett, Shelly (Scott) Tyler, the last surviving member of the Hancock family, her nephew Rick (Tina), nephews Mark (Yanzhi), Randy (Marie) and niece Jackie (Tom). Grandchildren Drenda, Geoff, Gerod (Ami), Dreama (Anthony), Chris, Stacy (Simon), Josh (Tracey), Zach, Kelsey, and Briana. Great grandchildren Delayna, Darrah, Ethan, Logan, Carter, Nolan, Marshall, Quincy, Ben, Ryko, Mathew, and adopted grandchildren Becky, Sam, Eli, and Rachel.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, February. 6, 2026 at the Seneca Christian Church in Seneca,MO. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2:00 PM with Joshua Frakes officiating. Burial will be at the Seneca Cemetery.
