Obituary for Lee R. Brodie

Lee R. Brodie, 86, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest May 17, 2016 at his home in Seneca after a long illness.   Lee Roy Brodie was born January 6, 1930 in Goodman, MO the son of Grover W. and Linda M. (Arnold) Brodie.  Lee was an independent truck driver for several years. He formerly worked as a police officer of McDonald County Sheriff’s Department (4 years), Seneca Police Department (4 years) and Goodman Police Department (10 years) before retiring.  Sergeant First Class Lee R. Brodie served his county in US Army during the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and French Fourragere during his service. Lee was a member of the American Legion Post 163 Neosho, MO, Northern Cherokee Indian Tribe and the Seneca Full Gospel Church.   Lee R. Brodie married Virginia Lee Eads December 24, 1951 in Madison County, AR and she preceded him in death March 3, 2015.   Survivors include one son C.L. Brodie and wife Cheryl, Seneca; one daughter, Linda Jeffers and husband Richard, Neosho; four grandchildren; Bruce Jeffers, Tim Jeffers, Christopher Brodie and John Brodie; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers John Brodie, Kansas City, MO and Jack Brodie, Neosho, MO.   Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Seneca Full Gospel Church with Floyd Austin and Mark Landrith officiating.  Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho, with Bruce Jeffers, Tim Jeffers, Chris Brodie, Dennis Eads and Ernie Eads.  Military rites will be conducted by Juliet Honors Team and the American Legion Post 363 Pineville.   The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Friday, May 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
