Joann Pierson, 91, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest May 11, 2026 at her residence in rural Seneca after a long illness.

Billie Joann Pierson was born September 25, 1934 the daughter of Carl and Amanda (Baily) Roberts. Joann married Benton Pierson July 30, 1954 in Arvin, CA. They lived in California raising their five children until moving to Seneca in 1973. Joann loved being outdoors working in her garden, she loved horses and cats and spending time with her family. She took great joy in cooking and hosting her family at the holidays. Joan was a former member of TOPS and The Red Hat Ladies. She was a co-owner of Pierson Enterprises with her husband Ben and loved traveling with him. She also was a hair stylist working in several shops and at her home. Joann also had a card ministry, sending cards to the grieving and sick. Joann attended Bethel Baptist Church and the Seneca First Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a kind, soft spoken elegant lady.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years Benton Pierson; her children, Rick Pierson and wife Rhonda, Rogers, AR, Debbie Winstone and husband Brad, Oronogo, MO, Dennis Pierson and wife Sharon, Joplin, MO, Linda Priester and husband Hank, Billings, MO, Tammy Arteaga and husband Patrick, Neck City, MO; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Larry Roberts and Glen Roberts and a host of extended family and friends.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Amanda Roberts; her brothers, Harry Roberts and Kenneth Roberts and one sister Martha Hunt.

The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am, Friday, May 15th at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, MO.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Friday, May 15th at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home with Joann's son Rick Pierson officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers.
