Janice (Younger) Bethel

Janice L. (Younger) Bethel, 80, Joplin, MO, passed into eternal rest March 12, 2023 at the Communities of Wildwood.

Janice Lynn Harrison was born March 22, 1942 in Joplin, MO the daughter of Gordon and Bernice (Underhill) Harrison. Janice loved to spend time with her family laughing and having a good time with them. She was a good socializer. Her favorite activities were shopping, crocheting, reading, eating ice cream, watching the deer and other animals. She never missed an episode of Judge Judy or The Bachelor.  Janice worked for Southwestern Bell starting out as a switchboard operator and then climbing the ladder to other positions.  Over her 30 plus years with Southwestern Bell she worked in Joplin, Springfield and finally in Kansas City until her retirement in 1998. Janice was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Overland Park and after moving back to the area she attended Long Assembly of God in Fairland, OK.

Survivors include her three children; Michael Younger and wife Louella, Fairland, OK; Shelli Chandler and husband Kevin, Joplin, MO and Kelli Ramirez and husband Gabe, Brentwood, CA; one brother, Lanny Harrison, Portland, OR; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Bernice Harrison and one brother, Jerry Harrison.

Visitation for Janice will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, MO. Funeral Services will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 am with Pastor (son) Michael Younger officiating.  A private burial will be in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery following services.
