Gwendollen B. (Beaty) Payne, 90, formerly of Bartlesville, OK, passed away October 28, 2020 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after an illness.
Gwendollen Beaty was born December 30, 1929 in the State of Arkansas the daughter of Roy and Mary (Kemp) Beaty. Gwendollen was a was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma and the UMW (United Methodist Women). She had her master’s degree in teaching and taught Home Economics for the Red Oak Public Schools. She retired from teaching while in the State of Maryland. Gwendollen enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts, painting and going to meetings of all types. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Gwendollen Beaty married Benjamin Payne in Red Oak, OK and he preceded her in death in February 2012. She was also preceded in death by siblings Hilton Beaty, Elvis Beaty and Elgie Beaty.
Survivors include; one sister Eppel Taylor, Grove, OK; one niece Mikki Shipley, Grove; one nephew, Michael Taylor and wife Ellen, Fayetteville, AR; Great nieces and nephews; Leah Whitehead, Seneca, MO, Lucas Shipley, Grove, OK and Ashely Taylor, Fayetteville, AR; Four great-great nephews; Konner, Kobye and Korey Griffin all of Glenpool, OK and Phoenix Shipley, Grove, OK.
The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date.
