Evelin Lucus

June 24, 1939 — February 3, 2024

  Evelin Mae Lucus passed away February 3, 2024 at Communities of Wildwood after an illness . She was born June 24, 1939 in Garden City, KS the daughter of Jack and Louella (Dunsworth) Goodwin.
  She married Melvin Ray Lucus on June 14, 1958 in Pueblo, CO. He preceded her in death November 26, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings and special friend David Buening.
  Evelin worked at Eagle Picher, Seneca, Mo, for 20 plus years, retiring in 2000. Evelin loved to read, sew, crochet, taking care of her flowers, watching the deer, squirrels and birds. She was considered Miss Fix-It by her family. Evelin was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended Bethany Baptist Church and currently attending Swars Prairie Baptist Church.  
  Evelin and Melvin had four daughters. Raeanne Dragoo and husband Morris, Seneca, Mo. Darnell Marlow and husband Pat, Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Doris Houser and husband Bob, Columbus, Kansas, Julie Sharp and husband, Jimmy, Baxter Springs, Kansas. Evelin had She had 8 grandkids, 17 great-grand kids, and 1 great-great grandkid. In addition, She claimed Kathy Jennings as one of her daughters and her family as her own. She had a special life long friend from middle school, Adria Cradduck, Seneca, Missouri.
  The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca. The family will hold a Celebration of life memorial service at a later date.
