Obituary for Doyle M. Funcannon

Doyle M. Funcannon, 86, Joplin, MO, passed into eternal rest at his home in Joplin surrounded by his family after a long illness.  Doyle Maurice Funcannon was born June 21, 1931 in Petersburg, IN the son of Ralph B. and Vivian Fay (Rose) Funcannon.  He was a member of Racine Christian Church. Doyle served his country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1953. He retired in 1981 from the City of Peoria, IL Police Department after 21 years of service .     Doyle M. Funcannon married Loretta Gayle Daniel February 4, 1956 in Peoria, IL and she preceded him in death January 1, 2001. Doyle married Katherine Maxine Dickey July 3, 2011 in Racine, MO and she survives.  Additional survivors include two daughters, Gayle Bieganowski (Richard), Neosho, MO and Couri Cole (David), Neosho, MO; stepchildren, Patrick Gilmore (Kim) , Joplin, MO, John Bryan Gilmore, Carl Junction, MO and Ellen Jane Danley (Scott), Joplin, MO; two brothers, Bob Funcannon, Boncarbo, CO and Ron Funcannon, Metamora, IL; 1 grandchild (Zeb Enslow), and 2 great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.    Doyle was preceded in death by an infant daughter Trina, his parents, one brother, Carl Funcannon and two sisters Sharon Hensley and Connie Misner.    The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Racine Christian Church with a Celebration of Life Memorial following at 2:00pm with Kirk Roelfsema officiating.  The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
