Obituary for C.R. Brownen (Brownie)

C.R. “Brownie” Brownen, 93, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 1:15 AM, Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a long illness.    C.R. Brownen was born October 20, 1918 in Yukon, OK the son of Charlie and Mabel (Lewis) Brownen. Brownie had owned and operated a Laundry Mat in Joplin, worked as a accountant for Newton Jewelers, the former Rocketdyne Plant in Neosho, the former Vickers Plant in Joplin, the former Seneca Gas Company and Owned and Operated the Seneca Milling Company until he retired.  He was an Army Veteran proudly serving his country during WWII with the Military Police in the 5th Air Force.   Brownie was a lifelong member of the VFW and a member of the Swars Prairie Church of Christ.  C.R. Brownen married Pauline I. Golden July 23, 1942 in Seneca, MO and she preceded him in death March 21, 2006.   Survivors include one son Terry Brownen and wife Nancy, Seneca; one daughter Cheryl Lankford and husband Dennis, Seneca; grandchildren, Danielle and husband Del Fletcher, Jordan Brownen and Tiana Brownen and a host of extended family and friends.   Funeral services under the direction of  Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Swars Prairie Church of Christ with Gayle West officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers.    The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM, Wednesday, June 6 at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be made to the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery fund or a charity of donor’s choices in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865  In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be made to the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery fund or the American Cancer Society in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865
