Cecil Vance, 80, Seneca, MO passed away at his home in Seneca after a long illness.
Cecil was born March 4, 1945 in Moberly, MO, the son of Cecil and Joan (Onley) Vance and was raised by his loving Aunt and Uncle Katherine and Mac Donovan. Cecil graduated from Paris High School in Paris, MO in 1963. He joined the Army and served his country from 1966-1968 in Germany. Cecil was a backhoe operator, Mechanic at GM in Kansas City and had worked the pipeline. He loved going to the races, NASCAR, Motorcycles, KC Chiefs and his dogs Dixie and Rascal. He taught hunter safety classes in Seneca and loved to race go-carts with his son Clinton. Cecil served the City of Seneca as Alderman for many years. He also served as Mayor Pro-teem.
Cecil Vance married Donna Kruse June 18, 1992 and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Clinton Vance, Seneca, MO, Tausha Johnson and husband DJ, Carthage, MO, and Cory Kruse and wife Monica, Liberty, MO; Grandchildren, Clay Vance, Makenzie Vance, Brayden Trigg, Breana Vance, Christian Vance, Rainey Thexton, Cody Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Larani Davidson, Haley Zimmerman, Isabel Tanner, Jackson Kruse and Lexi Tanner; Great-grandchildren, Chandler Johnson, Nova Nelson, Hayden Clogston, Ansen Vance, Callum Zimmerman and Asher Oakes; Siblings, Janet Young and husband David, Springfield, MO and Jimmy Platka, Cabot, AR; Special cousin, Nina Kay Donovan Milenius; special nephew, James David Platka and a host of extended family.
The family will receive friends fro 2-3pm, Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Seneca Cemetery with John St.Clair officiating.
