It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, a devoted matriarch and the heart of our family. Carol Sue Michael, age 79, a lifetime resident of Seneca, MO, went home to be with the Lord June 25, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Carol Sue Walker was born June 3, 1947 the daughter of O. Edith (Rantz) and Quenston Walker in a log cabin at Wela Park, MO. She was a graduate of Seneca High School. Sue formerly worked for La-Z-Boy Midwest in Neosho, Eagle Picher Industries, Seneca and then retired from the Seneca R7 School District. Sue gave of herself selflessly and her home was a place of comfort and belonging while finding joy in a crowded dinner table. She found peace in the simple things, time spent with family, shared laughter and the traditions she began that will live on for generations. Sue also enjoyed hunting the elusive morel mushroom, thrifting for a good bargain and all you can eat crab legs. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved side kick Louie.
Carol Sue Walker married Paul Freddie Cook June 4, 1965 and he preceded her in death. Sue married Bill Michael August 10, 1990 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister Charlotte Jean.
Survivors include two daughters Diana Smith and husband Darrell, Breckenridge, TX and Kandice Killingsworth and husband Ben, Carthage, MO; grandchildren, Aaron McKeehan, Kayla McKeehan, Darrell Smith Jr., Brittany Scull, Leeann Smith, Benjamin McKeehan, Melanie Adams (Matt), Alex Mefford and Blake McKeehan and 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews she treasured; siblings, Richard Conner (Connie), Darrell Walker (Diane), Jeanie Cox (Tom) and Loretta Davis.
Per Sue's request, the family will be having a Celebration of Life gathering, Friday, July 3rd at 5pm at her home in Hart. Please bring a covered dish to share.
