Obituary for Bill G. Pim

Bill Pim passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2011 in Franklin, IN.  Bill had been a 35 year resident of Seneca, MO and a lifelong resident of the Joplin area; before moving to Indiana in 2008 to be close to family. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Joplin. Bill was the fourth of six children born to Pete and Jesse Pim, Who preceded him in death. He married Bonnie Bartlett on September 1, 1950. The couple recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.   Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Franklin, IN; his sons Danny (Terry) Pim of Maxwell, TX and Randy (Nancy) Pim of Trafalgar, IN; five grandchildren, Renne (Matt) Willis, Billy (Ptiah) Pim, Christi (Barry) Reed, Peter (Patricia) Pim and Melissa (Doron) Jones and six great-grandchildren, Lillian, Addison, Gavin, Avery, Cooper and Micah. His brother-in-law Melvin O’Dell, sister-in-laws Violet Long, Effie Pim, Phyillis Pim, Emily Pim, Ellen Bartlett, and Patty Pim; and numerous nieces and nephews.   He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. During his time in the service, he received the Korean Service Medal and the Army Occupation medal. Bill retired from ICI Chemical (Formerly Atlas Powder Company) in 1990 after 41 years of Service. He was an active volunteer in Boy Scout Troop 58 in Seneca, serving as assistant scoutmaster, scoutmaster and troop committee member. His hobbies included fishing, camping, Yatzee with friends, and the Pim family weekly poker game. He was a member of the Fair Haven Christian Church, Trafalgar, IN.   Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with, Clovis Long, Jim Long, Larry Pim, Joe Brewer, Lonnie O’Dell, Steve Ousley, Derrick Campbell and Billy Pim serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the 203rd Juliet Honors Team, Joplin, MO.  Memorial contributions can be made to Camp Allendale Christian Camp, 4605 S. Allendale Drive, Trafalgar, IN 46181.
