Barbara Stone

Barbara S. Stone, 85, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest September 16, 2025 at Joplin Gardens after an illness.

Barbara Sue Stone was born June 27, 1940 in McDonald County, Mo, the daughter of Charles A. and Fern L. Cochran. She had lived in the area most of her life. Barbara enjoyed painting, fishing, her animals, spending time with her family and reading especially her Bible. She loved to debate the Bible and politics. Barbara retired from Eagle Pitcher in 2002. She had worked in both at the Seneca Plant and the Joplin Plant. Barbara was a faithful member of the Racine Christian Church for 45 years.

Barbara Sue Cochran married George V. Stone February 10, 1959 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death March 18, 2020. Also preceded her in death was her parents, one daughter Kelli Stone, two sisters, Charlene O'Dell and Helen Thomas.

Survivors include her sons, Doug Stone and Fiance' Lora, Neosho, MO, Brian Stone, Seneca, MO, Todd Stone and wife Jackie, Miami, OK; her daughters, Julia Calton, Carl Junction, MO, Peggy Clouse and husband Cyrus, Diamond, MO and Pamela Dunlay and husband Dean, Neosho, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faith Webb, Webb City, MO and Lela Jewell, Overland Park, KS. and a host of extend family, friends and church family.

The family will receive friends, from 10am to 11am Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Racine Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 11am following the visitation with Kirk Roelfsema officiating. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery in Goodman, MO with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
