I first met Marty in 1977. He was a favored student through elementary school and again when I taught at the high school level. I spent time with him in his home tutoring during the summer. Marty, my son and I often went to Sycamore Creek after hitting the books. We reconnected in 2007 and the student-teacher relationship changed to a beautiful friendship. He was one talented guy: artist, singer, yodeler, bbqer and all around great guy. He will be genuinely missed
